Hey guys just wanted to hear your opinions. We have opted not to live together as we are Christians and to respect his parents. Plus I think it gives a little something more special to look forward to - cuz the wedding day will go pretty quickly I think!

DH and i didn't live together before we got married, and yeah, it's taken sometime to adjust with this other body in the bed hogging sheets when i'm used all of them for me or why on earth he won't pick up his socks Rolling Eyes Laughing but we wouldn't change it for anything in world. Was the right decision for us. No regrets.

We aren't living together and don't plan to until we're married... basically the same reasons as you said Monica.

I would recommend people to do it. Things change A LOT when you move in together. We have been living together for over a year now.

we lived together for about a year before the wedding - it made sense financially because i was always at his place so paying two rents just made no sense. I'm glad we did it because we were both around for all the wedding planning Smile

We have lived together for 1 1/2 years now.

We knew when we moved in we'd be getting married, but there was no sense in paying 2 rents when we were staying together most of the time anyway.

We bought a house about a year into our relationship and have been living together for almost three years now. We have no regrets, at least we know there won't be any unpleasant surprises after we get married! Very Happy

We've been living together for almost 2 years. We were both tired of doing the long distance thing and it made more sense since I was paying a fortune to live in Toronto. We always thought we would get married, but after living together we were able to see what it was really going to be like to actually be together in the same house all the time... it's not about playing house. You really see how someone budgets, and how they handle larger responsibilities. It's not that I had this epiphany that we wouldn't get married after living together, but it made us both very aware of what we were marrying into.. so there are no surprises.

We've been living together for (holy cow!!) almost 3 years!

I really like how we moved in together gradually - we did spend a lot of time together from the beginning (we met about 1 year before we finished university), and in our last term at Waterloo we rented in the same townhouse complex! So we were still super close (and practically living together - his mom would call my house before calling his!), but we still had our own space.

We officially moved in together when we moved out west - by that time we were very committed, and it just made financial sense. I had no qualms about living together before marriage; neither of us is extremely religious, although we'd both prefer to be married before popping out little ones! Laughing

I had lived with a boyfriend once in the past, and had a really good experience with it, so the idea of 'living in sin' wasn't a scary one for me!

That said, I fully respect those that chose not to live together first - I think it takes a great deal of self-restraint!! (which I don't have!). It doesn't matter what everyone else does, it matters what's best for you and your significant other.

Cheers!
Sarah

We have been together 5 years now, and moved in together after 5 months! We had both lived with other people before, so we knew what we were getting into. After the first guy, living together was a must for me before marriage! I was engaged the last time and he was NOT the person I thought I had been dating. It was a learning experience. Now I know I have the right man Laughing

We've been together for 4 years. When we get married in June, we will have been living together for 1 year. We built a house last year, and moved in together a few months after it was complete. It has taken some time to get used to the others habits and such. I'm really glad we did this because there was a lot of stress at the begining. Now things are good, and I know what I've gotten myself into. (HAHA) Very Happy

We have been together over 6 years and living together over 5 years...took awhile to become adjusted to each other's habits ( He is super tidy and I can be a bit of a slob but then go on a rampage of cleanliness). It has worked for us!
